We are currently developing a new course that will be a pretty intense study of the Four Gospels. Meeting once a week for 2 hours a session in one of our prison, the course will take about a year to complete. Each Book, taking them in order, will take about 13 weeks to complete.
We will be using the Study guides from a program called ‘Life Change’. These workbooks were written by a ministry called the Navigators and published by one of their subsidiaries called NavPress. The Navigators are an international Christian ministry that focuses on personal spiritual growth.
My partners in this course development are two solid Christian brothers that have gone inside Folsom Prison with me for years. I look to them as the theological brains of this endeavor since both are Seminary graduates. Ben Pavan lives in the Sacramento area and Jeff Quant has moved to Newton Kansas to be closer to his grandkids, so we do everything remotely through Zoom and lots of texts and emails. It’s really been a pleasure working with these guys. Their collective senses of humor have made it interesting and fun.
We began this work last August, so it looks as though it will take about a year to develop. Our plan is to roll the pilot course out sometime in the Fall. It will be conducted at Folsom or Mule Creek State prisons here in California. Once we’ve ironed out the kinks, our plan is to roll it out into other States.
Bibles 4 Change will be the sponsor of this course and are expecting to fully fund its distribution. As always, the development and distribution of this work will be entrusted to God’s will for it. In over 10 years of this ministry, He has never failed to help us meet all of our financial needs and we are confident He will bless this work as well.
Please keep us in this body of work in your prayers and of course, we surely welcome any contributions to this effort that you may feel called to make.
Thanks for your interest and God bless you…
